I came to faith in Jesus when I was 21 years old (1982) and have sought to serve Him ever since. Through the desire to serve Jesus and a sense of His calling, in 1993 we launched out and began this church which I have had the privilege to be a pastor of ever since. I am a pastor by calling, but a carpenter by trade. I have primarily supported my incredible wife and our six amazing (and now, mostly grown) kids through my own business. There have been many challenges and transitions in our church over the years, but God has shown Himself faithful every time no matter what our circumstances. Our plan is to continue to “seek first the kingdom of God” as we let Him lead us to minister in whatever way He would have us to go.

After the surprise birth of our twins, both Jo, my wife, and I decided the importance of bringing up our children with the spiritual knowledge of Christ. We have always believed, but never seriously joined any church. In 1977, all that changed when we both received a “born again experience.” After going to many different churches through the years we settled in with the non-denominational experience that we finally found here at Revive Church, a style of learning that sticks and makes us stronger in the faith that we’ve always had. Becoming a student with a large Bible study group helped as well. Since then, much has happened with our family to give us a greater awareness of God’s grace and provision.

In May of 1984, my life was turned around 180 degrees when I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. As a gift from the Lord, I received a veracious appetite for His Word. I have used that hunger to get to know my Savior and to share it with others. I thoroughly enjoy teaching discipleship courses and seeing others grow in the Lord. Since I also have a love for music, I have used my abilities for God’s glory here at Revive Church. I enjoy almost every genre of music and I strive to make the worship at Revive fresh and meaningful. Some of my favorite worship leaders are Chris Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster, Paul Baloche, and David Crowder. May God receive the glory in everything I do!

I always heard about God and knew by creation that there was something greater. I had a desire to know who God truly was. However, I didn’t know about being born again, about knowing and having a personal relationship with Jesus. Later in my life, the Lord led me to a believer running a Bible study. It was at this Bible study that I felt the Lord calling me to give my life to Christ. After much prayer and searching, He led me to Calvary Chapel Franklin Park now called Revive Church. At Revive I found the love of God. I now love to study His Word and I strive to build my relationship with Jesus, and His people.

Even though I grew up a third generation Christian, I had to make the decision to follow the Lord myself and I made that choice at a young age. My wife and I brought up our four children the same way; trusting and obeying Jesus. One of my favorite Bible passages is Matthew 16:13-16, when Jesus asked the question “Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, son of the living God”. Here at Revive Church we are taught the truth of who Jesus is verse-by-verse.
